From Kuala Lumpur to Seoul
As you might know by now, I am a KGSP scholarship holder. KGSP covers all tuition fee and gives monthly allowance, plus the flight to South Korea! After negotiating and discussing with Yonsei University, I decided to take MAS for the first time. The only requirements were that it must be a direct flight and economy class. Obviously I am not going to torture myself and take AirAsia like I always do to save cost haha
It was a night flight, my family and closest friend came to the airport to send me away. It was emotional but I tried my best to not cry...
So, for the flight, I chose a quite zone area so that I can have a good night sleep with more leg space. There were free flow beverages. Besides that, before the main meal, they gave us some snacks (choosing between cheese bagel and rice balls). I will be arriving in the morning, so the meal provided was breakfast. I could choose between chee cheong fun or nasi lemak. I personally don't really eat nasi lemak, let alone for breakfast, so I chose chee cheong fun as my last Malaysian meal.
MAS provided a blanket and a pillow and because the seat beside me was empty, I had two pillows! yay! I had such a great sleep after watching "Isn't It Romantic" (love love love Rebel Wilson). Little did I know, time flew and my flight came to an end.
Yonsei University offered a taxi driver to pick me up at the airport and send me to my accommodation for free. It was the best thing ever. I was so tired and the taxi driver was so kind to carry my stuff for me while I try to settle my SIM card in the airport. The taxi was a comfortable mini van(?) and obviously I slept throughout my ride.
KGSP Orientation
As a KGSP holder, there was a KGSP Orientation that is mandatory to attend and was the reason we all had to arrive in South Korea within the time/period given by NIIED. The KGSP Orientation was held at NIIED and a chartered bus was provided by Yonsei University and meal stipend was provided by NIIED too for lunch. All KGSP holders who will be attending Yonsei University went to the orientation together. It was an hour long ride.
We all registered ourselves and received a name tag with our name and name of university. We then proceeded to the table allocated for Yonsei University students.
We were briefed on KGSP scholarship rules and regulations, safety regulations , Q&A, speeches from seniors and there were performances too. After all that, we had dinner at NIIED and it was great! There were great variety of food from appetisers to mains to desserts to snacks and fruits.
I manage to meet some of my fellow KGSP Malaysian friends there who went to the embassy interview together and met some new friends too!
