[Beauty Review] COSRX Pure Fit Cica line + Vitamin C serum

So almost 3 months ago, I was honored enough to get some hot items of COSRX delivered to my house. It was a cute box filled with ONLY the good stuff (no joke!) It was a set of Pure Fit Cica collection that includes Cica Cleanser, Cica Cream, Cica Toner, Cica Serum and Cica Powder. Besides that, there were also 3 other serum, namely the one and only Vitamin C serum (C 23), Vitamin E serum (E 20) and Retinol serum. Oh and also a prettily packaged sheet mask that is also under the Cica line.

Why is the Vitamin serums the 'one and only' you may ask? Well, I am sure all fans, or followers of COSRX out there know how well the Vitamin C was selling when it was launched back in July 2020. It was literally sold out on the day of the launch itself. It was restocked again due to high demand. After that, COSRX launched two more vitamins serum which are Vitamin E serum and the Retinol serum. And as expected, the Retinol serum sold out within 24 hours of launched. Seeing all the comments and people demand for more restocking of the line of serum is so impressive. I'm glad I had the chance to try when it was in the middle of restocking.

Anyways, from what I know, Cica is an ingredient that calms down your skin. It has that calming and soothing effect especially for people who has breakout randomly or is sensitive to weather change. The long period of having to wear a mask everyday is really making my skin so bad when I still have makeup on underneath. The breaths are all caught in the mask, making it humid with no flow of air. Breakouts to happen often due to that (first hand experience here too ㅜㅜ). My skin doesnt really breakout often because it is often dry, but when I don't wash my makeup brushes and puffs constantly, it does breakout and it is hard to calm my skin down.

So, let me talk about the Pure Fit Cica line first. I honestly didn't have enough face to use all of the products yet because I have a few other products that I have been constantly using and wanted to finish them first before I switch it out. So far, I've used the Cica Cleanser and Cica Cream.

Cica Cleanser

I have dry and combination skin, it depends on the weather, and I always have problem finding a cleanser that really suits my skin. There were some cleansing brand that are so popular and has so many good reviews but it just doesn't work for my skin. After a few use, I noticed my skin was getting so tight and dry because it was too strong. So don't just buy it because everybody says that it is good. Every skin is different. A product that works for dry skin A does not necessarily work for dry skin B because irritation and other problems might arise due to other factors.

Cica Cleanser was mild and kind to my skin as expected because it is suppose to not irritate skin. It does not have any added fragrance smell to it. And it still cleans my skin pretty well. I normally use it after using my makeup removing balm. It is almost double cleansing but it really does remove the last dirt/makeup that could have been stubbornly clinging on to your skin. I think people who wants a non 'stingy' type of cleanser that doesn't dry out your skin and make it squeaky clean that it might further irritate your skin, you can definitely try this out.

It is currently selling at USD 18 (US) or *with 25% discount* 9,750원 (Korea)

Cica Cream

This is honestly one of my emergency kit that I like to use. It just makes me skin feel alive after a good cleanse/scrub and apply it before i sleep, or even a thin base layer before I do my makeup everyday. I like to hydrate my skin before I put on any sunscreen and primer.

I don't know if this is a tip or everybody does it, I like to put the face cream for calming/soothing in my refrigerator to let it stay chill. So when I use it after my shower or after cleansing my face, it immediately makes my skin feel alive with that chill-to-touch sense. I always repeat '살았어! 살았어!' in my head while applying the cream during emergencies. It is really life changing! So yes, I put my Cica Cream in the refrigerator :D

Next will be the Vitamin serum review!

Vitamin C (C 23)

I have been constantly using Klairs' Vitamin C for some time and is now switching back and forth with COSRX. Although for me, it does not really have obvious visible change on my skin condition or hydrates it or anything, it acts like a vitamin to your skin. Just like eating vitamin for a healthier body. I think rather than a very visible effect, it shows slower over time. But it does makes my skin less dull when I touch it. The Vitamin C serum came in a sealed package and a dropper for each serum. So you have to unwrap the seal package and change the cap of the serum with the dropper.

I don't use it every day because too much serum might be a burden to my skin. So I use it every other day or every other 2 days. But because it is a Vitamin C serum, it tends to tingle slightly if you have any acne scars or scratches (even the tiniest that you might not even notice). So you can slightly avoid applying too much on those parts to reduce uncomfortableness. Because it should be absorb by your skin the most as it is a vitamin for the skin, I usually apply Vitamin C serum first before applying any moisturiser or cream.

I do have blemishes that I want to get rid of badly, and also wearing masks constantly does makes it harder for me to totally heal my acnes. So I am putting all hope on COSRX's Vitamin C serum now. If anybody is also using this, remember to store it at a dry and cool place and avoid any exposure to the sun or heat. Because it will oxidise and turn brown...that's what happened to my Klairs' Vitamin C.

It is currently selling at USD 29 (US) and *with 40% discount* 17,880원 (Korea).

I will write more reviews on the other products when I try them for a few weeks or months.

You can visit COSRX's official website for more information and pricing details (www.cosrx.com) and also follow their Instagram account (www.instagram.com/cosrx) so that you won't miss out on any special deals and launching events. Keep an eye on their Instastory, the countdown of launch of Vitamin C really made me excited LOL
