What I cook during self-quarantine in South Korea, 코로나 때문에 된 효리사

Online class period has been extending steadily so far, having to spend that much more time at home, I decided to buy some new "stuffs" so create my own home cafe. I enjoyed cooking a lot (not that I'm good at haha) so I bought new wooden cutleries, drinking glasses, decoration towel, wooden food tray, ratan coaster (라탄 컵받침) and some containers for the Milo and oat I brought back from Malaysia :)

Not to mention, I also bought new blanket and pillow cases for a change of mood! Besides, since online classes will be going on for awhile, I bought a small bed table so that I can listen to 3-hours lectures comfortably on my bed.

And of course, I was under self-quarantine for 14 days after my arrival back in Malaysia at the end of March, I had to do all the shopping online. Oh and during the 14 days, I had to submit my health status report through an app that I've downloaded at the airport called Self-Diagnosis 자가진단. It is a compulsory procedure to do everyday by 12am. There are people responsible calling me everyday in the morning to double confirm my health status too. After the 14 days passed, the app automatically sends me a notification notifying me exactly that and that I can finally delete the app once and for all. However, being the scaredy cat I am, I almost never leave my house, other than when I had to visit the 주민센터 to get my certificate of absence from the country.

So back to what I was saying, after all my things arrived, I started to spend more time cooking my breakfast, lunch and dinner, and spend even more time plating them and taking instagrammable photos! A good thing I would say is that since I am paying more attention to my cooking, it makes me want to eat healthily more. Instead of cooking ramen and cereals everyday, I tried to cook hot decent meals.

I've never cook any Malaysian food even when I was in Malaysia, I've only cooked Korean food and some simple pasta here and there. And maybe some baking (too bad there is no oven here, if not I'm sure I will be baking at this rate). Since I am back in Korea, I have been craving Malaysian food so much and the only thing I get as close as Malaysian food that I've always eaten back at home was cooking tomyam soup with the Adabi kiup sup I've bought :( I have been dying to make roti canai at home but I need my kari ikan ㅜㅜ

I love vegetables more than meat, so far I've never tried making any dishes with meat in it (if you exclude Spam and fish cakes) at home. I cannot really eat a lot and meat fill my stomach up way too fast. So most of my cookings are "almost" vegetarian.

Since this post is dedicated to my cookings, let me show you some of my cookings. If you are following me on Instagram (@hr056__) you can check them out under my highlight named "효리사"
